She is a graduate of the University of Michigan (UM), where she played four years at first base for legendary UM head coach Carol Hutchins. She won numerous national awards during her college career, including two-time first-team All-American. She was inducted into the University of Michigan’s Hall of Honor in 2015. To this day, she remains the UM all-time hits leader in the Big Ten conference.
As a college freshman, Conrad-Steele was named to the Women’s College World Series all-tournament team and earned accolades as Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Michigan Rookie of the Year. During her sophomore season, she helped the Wolverines advance to their third straight Women’s College World Series, earning first-team All-American honors and her first of three selections to the Big Ten first team.
Conrad-Steele also earned a gold medal playing for the United States as a member of the 1997 Pan Am Qualifier team in Medellin, Columbia, and participated in the 1997 and 1998 USA Softball National Team Festival.
As a college junior, Conrad-Steele helped the Wolverines to a number two national ranking for ten straight weeks, earning the first-team All-American honors. As a senior in 1999, she was named a Honda Award Finalist, third-team All-American, received her second nod as Big Ten Player of the Year, and was the Michigan team MVP.
Off the field, Conrad-Steele was a first (1998) and second (1999) team GTE Academic All-American and a three-time academic all-district team selection.
After graduating from Michigan in May 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management & Communications, Conrad-Steele helped lead the Akron Racers to the 1999 Women’s Pro Softball League (WPSL) championship series, where they finished as league runners-up. She then went on to serve as Assistant Coach at Notre Dame from 2000-2001.
Coach Tracy has been a private instructor and travel ball coach for the last 20 years. She has also assisted many athletes with the college recruiting process, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the game.
